In mid-October, our parish welcomed a special visitor, retired Archbishop Lazar Puhalo from All Saints of North America Orthodox Monastery in Dewdney, B.C. Vladyka joined us for services, ordained a new subdeacon Michael Bremner, gave a lecture on Icons to parishioners and visitors, joined the ladies for a special luncheon and discussion time, presided at a family Slava celebration, gave a meleti for another group, and delivered a final lecture, Navigating the 21st Century, at the city library. A highlight of his visit was the presentation of relics of St. Tikhon, St. Nektarios, and St. Seraphim of Sarov — a gift from the monastery to our parish, and the first relics that we have ever housed. A real treasure for us! Vladyka Lazars five-day visit will be long-remembered, for his teaching, his blessings for us, and for the wonderful relics he left with us.Glory to God for all things!
