When the Lord said farewell to His disciples at the Mystical Supper, He told them incomprehensible words about how He would both leave them soon and soon come to them [cf. John 14]. And they did not know that these words describe every earthly parting in God. If there is a rushing of the Comforter, the Spirit of God, then He comforts and assures that every human parting is drowned in the eternity of love and that every dark cloud overshadowing the human heart vanishes and dissipates in its flame.
